Hello & Welcome! A little about me…

Well, hello there and welcome to my blog!

My name is Lori.  I’m a small town girl who moved to Houston about…14 years ago to pursue an education in pharmacy.  I liked it so much here I just decided to stay!  I’m 36, married, with 2 a-dog-able furbabies, Diva and Oreo.  You’ll be seeing them a lot here.

Diva is a 12 year old American Eskimo Dog.  She was my first baby!  I got her a teeny puppy and she is my best bud.  I adopted Oreo when she was just shy of a year old.  She is a 6 year old…well, we don’t know what she is, but whatever it is…she sure is cute!  She is the sweetest pup you’ll ever meet and my little cuddler.

I would say I have wanted to get into some type of online business having to do with fashion or beauty for the better part of a year.  There was a lot to think about.  How would I start?  What would my focus be?  How much time will it take?  Could I do it and maintain it while keeping my current full time job?  And most prominent in my head…How are people going to judge me?

I finally decided to get over that last one.  Because one thing I love is talking to my friends about clothes and makeup.  Why not share my opinions and knowledge with others?

I have never been one to scour the pages of fashion magazines.  While I appreciate high fashion (especially shoes and handbags), it’s really not practical for everyday.  Give me a copy of People Style and I’ll dog tag every page!

My love for fashion and beauty started when I was in high school.  I was one of those girls that a “modeling agency” picked out at the mall.  They told me I could be a model!  Well…that never happened.  They did manage to land me a role as an extra on the then hit TV show, Walker Texas Ranger.  If you blinked, you missed me, but it was still fun!  I participated in one beauty pageant.  Just one.  I didn’t even make it to the top 15.  But once again, it was fun, and I always like joking about how I was a “beauty queen.”  LOL.  The one thing both of these experiences taught me was how to be confident in myself.  And, how to do my makeup and walk in heels.

I have been obsessed with beauty gurus on YouTube for about 8 years.  Some of them, I remember when their channels started, when they had bad cameras and no lighting, and I loved every minute of it!  Seeing them grow their businesses is really inspirational.  I wanted to start my own YouTube channel for a long time, but I just couldn’t get excited enough about it to just do it.

I started following style gurus about a year ago.  This is when my interest started to peak.  I love Instagram.  And as embarrassing as this is to admit…I also kind of like taking pictures of myself, LOL!  So I started following more and more ladies and the more I followed, the more I said to myself, “I want to do that too! That is how I want to share my passion!”

What can you expect here?  Everyday clothing with some fancy mixed in from time to time, beauty recommendations and makeup looks, skincare, and last but not least…DOGS!

I wanted to add a little something that would set my blog apart from others.  Because honestly, there are A LOT of fashion and beauty bloggers out there!  So I have decided to not only bring my pups into some photos and Instagram stories, but there will also be dedicated blog posts and a page on this site just for dog lovers.

Also, expect really bad grammar.  Haha!  I was a biology major and then I went to pharmacy school, my education in writing is lacking to say the least.  But I will at least promise to keep it entertaining!
