The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I Got, And What You Need

Ahhh the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s a blessing and a curse. New fall clothing, marked down to great prices. But, it feels like a rush to get what you want. I love it and I hate it all at the same time but I can’t take my eyes off it!

This year was my first time to shop the sale as a blogger and it made me hyper-aware of what was coming out, what the hot items would be, and what might sell out quickly. I’ve shopped the sale for a few years, but last year I decided to get a Nordstrom card so I could shop early access. And if you are a true fan of the brands that are carried at Nordstrom, it’s really the only way to go. But, I know many of my followers may not be card holders. So I decided to make this post with the things I ordered, but also include some staple items, that should still be in stock, that are must haves for any wardrode. Hope you enjoy!

What I Bought!

I want to preface this by saying that I still haven’t received some items, but I will give a brief overview of what I have received and whether or not I’m keeping it!

1. The Gibson Twist Front Top: LOVE. I got the leopard print version (of course) and it is really flattering on, and so soft! This brand has a tendency to run a bit large for me, so I sized down to a medium.
2. Caslon Turtleneck Sweater: another LOVE! Very soft and comfy. I’m almost tempted to get it in another color, but since it stays relatively temperate in Houston during the winter, I’m not sure if I will get a whole lotta use. But, LOVE. I got my normal size large.
3. The infamous BP Leopard Cardi: I am nothing if I’m not honest, and to be perfectly honest, I think this was the most over-hyped item of the sale. I didn’t feel it was as soft as everyone said, and I did not find the fit flattering. If you’re looking for a size medium…be on the lookout for it to go back in stock…this one is being returned 🙁
4. Caslon Camo Jacket: I wanted to love this one too. But for me, it was a no. Again, I didn’t feel like it fit me well and I think other brands will come out with camo jackets this season that might be a better fit for me. It’s going back.
5. Good American Flared Jeans: LOVE! This brand can do no wrong with me. Jeans fit like a glove and are so soft. These are going to be a staple Item for me this year. I sized down to an 8, but I could have gone with my regular size 10. Either way, I’m keeping these babies!
6. Barefoot Dreams Long Cardi: Another brand that can do no wrong in my opinion! So soft. So comfy. Drapes beautifully. I got my normal size large and I’m not looking back!
7. Nordstrom Disc Necklace: Haven’t received yet. But I’ve seen it on other and it’s so pretty! I know it’s a keeper!
8. Gibson Cozy Top: I got this one in the snake print. Haven’t received it yet, But I know I am going to love it. Since this one is fitted, I got my normal size large.
9. Paige Distressed Black Jeans: Have not received yet. I’m hoping these are a LOVE. I have a couple pairs of Paige jeans and I really like them, so hopefully these follow suit! I got my normal size in these.
10. 1.State Booties: I originally ordered the oh so popular Vince Camuto Booties, but they got cancelled. So I went back and found these, and y’all, I LOVE them! I got the snake print version and they are gonna go with so much. They have the perfect almond shaped toe that’s not too pointy and not to round. I already paired them with the jeans and the green Caslon top and OMG HOLY CUTE OUTFIT! I got my normal size 9. If you wanted the sold out ones, don’t hesitate to get these instead!
11. Thread and Supply Wubby Fleece: Havent gotten this yet either, but I know it’s gonna be a love. These things are so soft and comfy! I got my normal size large. I probably could have sized down, but I wanted an oversized fit.

So not that we have gotten through all of that…let’s talk about a few staple items that you need, and that are probably still in stock when the sale opens to the public!

The Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

You literally cannot go wrong with this one! These rarely go on sale, so you know they are good. I’ve had several styles and I love them all. Yeah, you can wear it around the house, but I wear mine to work over my scrubs and they are even cute with jeans or leggings. MUST. HAVE.

Zella Leggings

I love these so much. I have like…3 pairs of black, plus some blue and grey ones. At first, I only wore them for casual looks or around the house, but I’ve started wearing them to the gym, and they are so good! They don’t slide down, they suck you in, they aren’t see through. Perfection!

Premium Denim

If there is ever a time to buy premium denim, it’s during the NSale. So many great high end brands to choose from at great discounts. I am partial to AG, Paige, and Good American. But with so many choices, you really can’t go wrong! Linking a few of my favorites here:

Some Staple Booties

And last but not least…a cute pair of booties to go with everything! The selection of boots (well, shoes in general) is insane. But, a cute pair of versatile boots will go far. Last year I picked up the Lucky Brand wedges, and this year I got those 1.State wedges, so, I like wedges. But I also think these styles rae super cute, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I pick up another pair before it’s all over LOL
