Top 3 Must Have Coats
I feel like it never REALLY gets cold in Houston until January and February. Yes, we will have the random snow flurry in December, but when we are talking sustained cold weather, it just doesn’t come until after New Years. So, I figure what better time to round up some of my must have coat styles than now, when they are ALL on sale!
And I know what you’re thinking…”what if I buy one of these now and it’s not in style next year?” Well, that’s the point of this post. These coats are always going to be in style. Several of them I have had for multiple years and I still love them! So without further adieu, here are my to 3 favorite coat styles:
The Faux Leather Coat
Looks like real leather, feels like real leather, but doesn’t have the negative connotation. This coat is great for casual outfits…jeans, leggings, joggers…they will all look good with this coat. Wear it to brunch, dinner, wine tastings, really anywhere you plan to dress casually for. Here are a few examples:

The “Kate Middleton” Coat
I like to call this style that. It’s a classic style that’s always been a staple, but really became popular when the Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing them to nearly every fall and winter Royal event. This is the wool coat that can pass for a dress. It’s really structured, has a belt, and is super classy. You can wear it with jeans, but its going to look best with skirts and dresses, to cocktail events and work.

The Faux Fur Coat
This coat is a statement maker. It’s the one you wear when you want to look just a little more extra than everyone else. Mine is in leopard print because in my opinion, leopard is a neutral. But any color will do.
